In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of the Admins.

1.1 General Rules:

* While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
* Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such..
* Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
* Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
* Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. Don’t answer your own post just to increase your post count . Other members of the forum have same rights as you. Please respect them. Bumping of your own post is allowed if there has been not a single reply to your post for 24 hours. However you may add content to your own posts relating to same topic. Such posts will be treated and bump posts.
* We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
* You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal..
* You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests.
* We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules, as access to our forums are a privilege and not a right..
* Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

1.2 Advertising Services and Solicitation

We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitation in signatures is also prohibited.

Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:

* Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is permitted by Admin and does not lead to any competitor’s site
* Promotional text for a commercial product or service is ok, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed.
* A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain product(s) and/or service(s) is allowed, provided the site is not sexual or does not violate site rules.. The Mahamasti team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate site rules..

Rules for moderators

Dear Members,

Please find below the rules with which this forum is moderated. These are the rules that moderators should adhere to, when doing their job. Of course, like several things in life, this is not final, changes will obviously be made in the future, as this forum is new, and I have limited experience in running it.

2. Moderator Rules
The moderators are the people who make sure that users are following the Forum Rules. They are here to help members and to protect members and the forum itself, from those few, who do not want to act as adults. Their job is not an easy one and they are not recompensated for their work, so I have to thank them all for offering to help me run this site.

The rules below are established in order to make their life and members life easier.

2.1 The moderator's role is to enforce the Forum Rules among the Forum members. This is an administrative task, not a law enforcement task and should be treated as such, both by the moderators and the members.

2.2 The moderator acts as a role model for the rest of the members. The moderator's behavior has to set an example to how other members should behave in the forum.

2.3 The moderator does not have friends and enemies, all members should be treated the same by every moderator. A moderator should not allow his personal feelings to influence his judgement about the content of this forum, or the behaviour of the members. These are defined by the forum rules and the moderator's personal feelings have nothing to do with them.

2.4 The moderator has the right to edit or delete members threads or posts, if he thinks that these are not according to the Forum Rules. He is not allowed to edit or delete a thread or a post, simply because he does not agree with its content or the member who submitted it. Typically a thread or a post will be edited or deleted, if it contains politics, vulgar or foul language, nudity or comments which can be insulting for other members of the forum, keeping in mind the international characteristics of the Internet. Please be advised, that your original post, before it is edited or deleted by the moderator, is stored in a special area, for dispute resolution.

2.5 A moderator has the right to move a thread to another forum if he thinks that this would be a more appropriate area for that thread. A relocation message should be left behind, so that people can follow up the thread. Please keep in mind that this board has a Warning System, through which the moderators can issue warnings to members who do not follow the Forums Rules. Usually moderators do not warn new users for 'offenses'. However, a seasoned member will be warned, if his actions are not according to the Forums Rules.

2.6 A moderator has not the right to ban a user from the forum. This will be done only after consultation with the other moderators and the forum's administrator. A moderator should use the Warning System to issue warnings for members offenses. These warnings CAN result in a member being banned and this is not considered a violation of this rule. However, a moderator should consult with other moderators and/or the forum administrator, before issuing a 'Permanent Ban' warning (see the FAQ, for details on the Warning System).

2.7 When a moderator participates in a discussion, he should do it in accordance with rules (2) and (3) above. In no case, should a moderator use his administrative role, as a weighting factor in such a discussion. When participating in a discussion, the moderator is treated as just any other member, and is subjected to the same rules that apply for the members, only he is judged more strictly, since he has to set the example for the members.

2.8 Every member who has a specific and documented complain about a moderator should directly discuss the problem with the moderator himself. If he is not satisfied with the outcome, the member can notify the forum's administrator, with his complain, while concurrently cc-ing the particular moderator. I expect both members and moderators to act as responsible adults, not as babies.

2.9 Moderators should always keep in mind that Mahamasti is (and will always remain) a gentleman's playground, where members come to enjoy themselves. They deserve the utmost respect, and that is what they should get. Your actions should be well justified and the member against whom you are taking actions, should be aware of the reasons which caused your actions. Under no circumstances a moderator can edit/remove a thread or post, without explaining his actions to the offending member.

2.10 If a moderator faces a severe problem with a member, and he is not sure how to handle it, it is best to bring the problem to the 'Moderator's room' for discussion. The same is true for the members of course, according to (Cool above.

Practically speaking, if:
2.21 A moderator notices a new thread which is not in accordance with the forum rules: He moves the thread to a specified forum, where it remains for dispute reasons. That forum is accessible only to moderators and admin. The moderator will also use the Warning System to warn the user for his behavior. The Warning System will notify the member of the warning he/she received, automatically.

2.22 A moderator notices a post in an existing thread which is not in accordance with the forum rules. The moderator uses the Warning System to warn the member and copies the post in the specified forum. The post is edited and the reasons for the moderator's actions are stated where the post was, in the thread.

2.23 A moderator notices a thread which does not fit in the forum it was posted. The thread is moved to the proper forum, leaving a redirection link in the original forum. The moderator has to warn the member, using the Warning System, unless the member is very new to the board, in which time a PM should be send explaining the problem.

2.24 A moderator has a significant problem with one member and wishes that this member be banned from the forum. He posts a message in the appropriate forum (Moderator room) explaining the reasons for which he wants the user banned. Other moderators provide their opinions. Decision is reached. If the member is banned a message is send to the offending member explaining the reasons he/she was banned.
ve.

3. Rules regarding posting of Pics.

3.1 CHILD PORN IS NOT ALLOWED AND STRICTY PROHIBITED. Member posting a child porn will immediately be banned forever from the site without any warning.

3.2 REAL LIFE BRUTALITY E.G. RAPE VIDEOS, BEHEADING VIDEOS, ETC CAN ATTRACT AN IMMEDIATE BAN FOR THE POSTER.

3.3 VOYEUR PICS/VIDS NOT ALLOWED.
Dictionary describes VOYEUR as: A person who derives sexual gratification from observing the naked bodies or sexual acts of others, especially from a secret vantage point.

So quite simply, the pics/vids where the person doesnt know he/she is being shot are NOT allowed. However, If you can blacken the face of the person in question (and every person in the pic/vid) so it is no longer identifiable, we can allow it. However dicision of Moderators will be final in all such case and they may remove any such post with any notice.

Posting of family photograph which may harm the dignity of that family are not permitted. Other group photograph may be posted provided they don?t harm someone?s dignity Moderator dicission will be final on such posts and they can remove any such pics without any notice to the poster.. We are here to have fun, but not on someone dignity?s cost.

3.4 DONT POST NUDE PICS INLINE.
"Inline" refers to the situation when you post them under [\img] links which means that the pic is visible when someone reads the topic. Nude pics should not be directly visible but should be posted as a link that can be clicked to view image.
Please post nude pics as Direct Links only, so users who want to view can click on them and view by choice.

3.5 PLEASE POST THUMBNAILS AND NOT FULL PICS.
If a thread/post of yours contains more than 2 images or you know that the image you are going to post is going to be third (or more), then please POST THE IMAGE AS THUMBNAIL and not the full pic. This saves the hosting site its bandwidth and the reader of the thread (on a slow connection) does not need to wait minutes and minutes before the thread fully loads. This also saves us our precious bandwidth.

3.6 ANY KIND OF ADVERTISING IS NOT ALLOWED
You are expected not to advertise other sites when here on mahamasti for obvious reasons.

These posting guidelines shall be updated from time-to-time and you are requested to go through this topic atleast once every fortnite...

3.7 The Admins reserves the right to disallow ANY topic it deems unsuitable. The reason may/may not be shared.[u]

4. RULES FOR REPEAT POSTS

4.1 Definition of Repeat : Any joke which is same, similar or having the same heart / crux of an earlier posted joke whether a shorter version or an elaborate one will be treated as a repeat. Change of names in jokes, the language or any tinkering here and there will not disqualify the said joke being called as repeat.

4.2 Repeater's Treatment: After a valid link is provided of the joke having been posted earlier, the same shall be shifted to Repeated Topics where treatment for the repeater is a bit nasty. No personal attacks by any member/moderator; junior or senior will be tolerated. A repeater must take the treatment in the right spirit and is not expected to retaliate.

4.3 Time Limit for providing link: A valid link may please be provided within a period of 12 months from the date of posting of the repeat joke. If anyone provides a link after that period, the post will get shifted to Repeated Topics but the treatment will be given to the person providing the link without any exception.

4.4 Only first post of each Thread should be treated as repeat : Only first post of each thread/topic should be treated as repeat. Subsequent posts which are added as reply to any thread should NOT be treated as repeat.

4.5 No post should be treated as repeat unless reported with links : Unless reported by a member with the valid links, a post should not be treated as Repeat.. After getting report the moderator will shift the post to “Repeated Topics” . A member may or may not report a post as “Repeat”.

4.6 Treatment for providing invalid/wrong link: the person providing the invalid/wrong link will have to face the music in Repeated Topics.

4.7 Person applauding the repeat joke: he is also likely to be treated at par with the repeater.

4.8 Exception: New members will be given a relaxation upto the first 100 posts or 1 month from the date of joining, whichever is earlier. A link may be provided so that the new member knows that he is posting repeat jokes but the post will not be shifted to Repeated Topics.

In case any of the members is not satisfied with any decision of the moderator / admins with regard to their joke being reported as repeat or being shifted to Repeated Topics, he may bring the same to the notice of Admin instead of posting nasty messages / grievances on the thread itself.

4.9 A note for Moderators: All of us have to be impartial. Our decisions should not only be justified but must appear to be justified.

4.10 Decision of Admin will be final and binding : In case of any dispute the decision of Admins will be final and their will be no further discussion on that topic.
